The Gibsons Live Poets Society, Nightwood Editions and Brindle & Glass present an evening of poetry and prose with Tim Bowling and Theresa Shea on Thursday, July 18 at 7 PM at the Gibsons Public Art Gallery (431 Marine Drive, Lower Gibsons). For more information, visit our events calendar here, or phone (604) 883-2730. Donations gratefully accepted at the door.
Tim Bowling will be reading from his milestone collection, Selected Poems,
which includes his finest poems over a twenty-year period, including work from his widely celebrated debut collection, Low Water Slack, in 1995, to his tenth collection, Tenderman, in 2011. Always a poet of intense emotion and surprising metaphor whose lyric-narrative voice ranges in tone from romantic to humorous to coldly tragic and unrelievedly dark, Bowling’s integrity has never wavered, nor has his commitment to celebrating poetic tradition and the land and waterscapes of his cherished West Coast.
