Carleton Wilson wins Alcuin Society Book Award

Congratulations to Nightwood Editions book designer, Carleton Wilson, for winning 3rd place in the 2012 Alcuin Society Award for Excellence in Book Design in Poetry for the striking cover art and book design of Darren Bifford‘s latest collection, Wedding in Fire Country.

 The winning books will be exhibited in Germany at the Frankfurt and Leipzig Book Fairs; in Japan, at the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, in conjunction with the Tokyo International Book Fair; and in nine provinces across Canada. The books will also be entered in the international book design competition in Leipzig, Germany in 2014. Awards will be given out this fall in Toronto and Vancouver. Carleton Wilson is a poet, editor, publisher, and freelance graphic designer who specializes in book typography and cover design. He is the publisher and general editor of Junction Books, an independent Canadian press and imprint of Nightwood Editions. Carleton’s latest collection is The Material Sublime by Nightwood Editions.
