Jay MillAr’s new Toronto Quarterly interview

Have a look at this new Toronto Quarterly interview with poet Jay MillAr. Asked to define his new collection, Jay offered this description of Timely Irreverence:

I suppose it would be me advocating that poetry (a term synonymous with creativity) be part of one’s everyday life, for noticing that creativity is not something that is separate from the many things humans engage in during the relatively slow time travel they endure. Humanity is a rather mundane and trivial thing in the 21st Century, but I think poetry allows us to notice the beauty of that if we allow it to be integrated with our lives.
